Certifications:
A zip lock bag is one of the hardest kitchen items to replace, because it has to do its job without fuss. These ones do. The BPA-free zip closure keeps food fresh and stops leaks, and the freezer-safe format covers leftovers, snacks, packed lunches and meal prep.
The difference is at the end of the bag's life. The material is a blend of PBAT, corn starch and PLA, so it can be composted rather than sent to landfill.
What you get:
- 15 bags per pack
- 2.5 litre capacity
- BPA-free zip-lock closure
- Freezer-safe
- Packaged in recyclable cardboard
How to dispose of them (the one bit worth knowing):
- Home composting: the bag material is certified for it, but the zip closure is certified for industrial composting only, so remove the zip first.
- Industrial composting: put the whole bag in, zip included. No cutting needed.
Bundles are available in 1, 2, 3 or 4 packs, with savings of 3%, 5% and 8% on the larger bundles. If you use a lot of sandwich and freezer bags, stocking up is the cheaper way to swap.
Eco Green Living makes plastic-free, compostable or recycled-material household swaps. This is one of the simplest: same habit, different bag.
