Habulous makes the Poppy mug by hand in its studio in Devon. The poppy is painted on with a wax resist, then the mug is glazed and fired. The wax keeps the glaze off the painted area, so what comes out of the kiln is a delicate floral silhouette in off-white stoneware. It is part of the Habulous floral mug collection. The poppy is one of August's birth flowers and symbolises wealth and success, which makes this an easy gift for an August birthday.
