Air plants are one of the more forgiving ways to bring greenery indoors — no soil, no roots, minimal fuss. What they do need is something worth sitting in. Habulous's ceramic bird holders give them exactly that: a small, considered perch that earns its place on a windowsill, shelf, or bathroom ledge.
Every bird is thrown and glazed by hand in Habulous's studio in Devon, using British clay. The pale yellow glaze is subtle rather than showy — the kind of colour that works in a child's bedroom as easily as a kitchen shelf. Because each piece is made entirely by hand, from the beak to the body to the glaze application, yours will be genuinely unique. If you are new to air plants, Ionantha and Capitata Peach are the most straightforward starting points — compact, resilient, and well-suited to the bird's proportions. More confident growers might try a Caput or Juncifolia, which have a more dramatic silhouette. Habulous recommends caring for your air plant as soon as it arrives, particularly if it is a gift.
A note on the plants: air plants are perishable and some natural browning is normal. Habulous will exchange or refund if a plant arrives damaged in transit — notify them immediately with images if that happens.
