There is something quietly right about a plant pot that was made in the same kind of landscape it is meant to evoke. Habulous throws these planters by hand in Dartmoor, using British clay, and the result is a piece that carries a genuine sense of place rather than a manufactured aesthetic.
The two-glaze finish — earthy greens and browns on the outside, warm cream where the natural clay fires through between them — mirrors the gorse, forest, and open terrain of the moor itself. The clay visible between the glazes bakes to a gentle cream, creating a subtle contrast in texture that you notice more the closer you look. No two pieces come out identically, which is the point: each one is a small record of the hands and the kiln that made it.
