Each Habulous bird air plant holder is thrown and finished entirely by hand in Great Britain using British clay. The mint green glaze is applied by hand too, which means the colour, texture, and finish vary slightly from bird to bird — that is not a flaw, it is the point. You are not buying a production-line ornament; you are buying a one-off ceramic piece that happens to be a very good-looking way to display an air plant.
Air plants are ideal for anyone who wants greenery without the upkeep of soil. They sit neatly in the bird's back, need no potting, and require only occasional watering — making them genuinely low-maintenance and well-suited to windowsills, shelves, desks, or mantelpieces (just check the light levels suit your chosen variety).
Choosing your plant:
- Ionantha — a compact, beginner-friendly variety. A good starting point if you are new to air plants.
- Capitata Peach — slightly larger, with a warm blush tone as it matures. Still manageable for most growers.
- Caput — a more dramatic, sculptural variety suited to confident growers or those with a bit of air plant experience.
