Handmade by Habulous Ceramics in Great Britain using British clay, each bird-shaped match pot is individually formed and glazed by hand — from beak to body. The mint green glaze varies slightly from piece to piece, which is the point: yours will be genuinely unique.
The bird's back holds approximately 50 long safety matches (10cm), measured by weight. The base is fitted with a striker pad so it is ready to use straight away. When the pad wears out, replacement matches and spare striker pads are available separately.
Once the matches are gone, the pot works just as well as a holder for cotton buds, pencils, or dried botanicals. It is the kind of object that finds a second life without any effort.
