Handmade in a Dartmoor studio from British fleck clay and finished in a satin off-white glaze, this stoneware hook pairs raw kiln-fired texture with a smooth glaze in a way that no mass-produced metal or plastic hook can replicate — the kind of detail that makes a hallway or bathroom feel considered rather than assembled.

There is a particular satisfaction in a hook that looks good even when nothing is hanging from it. Habulous makes theirs by hand in a studio on Dartmoor, using British fleck clay that gives each piece its characteristic speckled character. The off-white satin glaze is their own formulation — smooth and sophisticated on the front face, with the raw kiln-fired clay left deliberately exposed on the contrasting edges. No two hooks come out of the kiln identical.
At W3cm × L8.5cm × D2.3cm, the hook is compact enough to work in tight spaces — the back of a bathroom door, a narrow hallway, a utility room — without looking like an afterthought. The screw hole diameter is 0.6cm.
A few things worth knowing before you fit it:
- Stoneware is strong in everyday use but will not survive a hard impact — if the hook is on a door that swings open and strikes the wall, it may break
- Use a manual screwdriver when fitting; an electric drill applies too much torque and risks cracking the ceramic
- Screws are not included
