Most perfumes list 'parfum' in the ingredients and stop there. Legally, they do not have to go further — and that single word can conceal hundreds of synthetic molecules. Haoma does not do that. No 1 lists every ingredient by its full botanical name, and every one of them is certified organic.
The scent itself is a complex blend — geranium and palmarosa give it a floral lift, patchouli and cedarwood bring the earthy, woody depth, myrrh and frankincense anchor it with warmth and resin. It wears as a unisex fragrance: not sharp, not sweet, not what most people expect from a perfume. That is the point. Around 99% of perfumes on the market use synthetic molecules, which are engineered to project in a particular way. No 1 is made entirely from essential oils — they evolve on the skin, interact with your body chemistry, and behave differently from synthetics. If you are new to fully natural perfume, expect a richer, more botanical scent profile rather than the sharp projection of a conventional fragrance.
Q: Why are no samples or testers available? A: As a fully handmade, independent brand, every size variation must undergo independent certification for both organic and vegan status, plus laboratory testing and regulatory submission to EU and UK cosmetics portals. These requirements make producing samples cost-prohibitive at this stage. Tester paper strips were trialled but essential oils do not hold their scent well on paper, so Haoma chose not to offer them until quality can be maintained.
Q: Are the fragrances also aromatherapy products? A: Because No 1 is made purely from essential oils, it functions as an aromatherapy product as well as a perfume. Essential oil molecules cross the blood–brain barrier and can influence mood and well-being beyond simply providing scent.
