Organic CertifiedPlant-Based

Lavender is the most recognisable scent in the world, and also one of the most frequently faked. Most lavender perfumes — including those from brands that market themselves as natural — use synthetic lavender molecules rather than the essential oil itself. Haoma's version uses only Lavandula Angustifolia oil, certified organic, as the sole aromatic ingredient. What you smell is the plant, not a laboratory approximation of it.

This is a single note perfume, which means the formulation is built around one aroma and one aroma only. There is no blending to mask or complicate — just a clean, floral, calming lavender that wears close to the skin. Because it is made entirely from essential oils, the scent profile will be different from synthetic perfumes you may have used before. Essential oils are softer, more intimate, and less linear than synthetics. That is not a limitation — it is the point.

Haoma is transparent about what this means in practice: natural scents will not smell the way synthetic ones do, and they are not designed to. The perfume industry has spent decades training consumers to associate synthetic molecules with luxury. Haoma's position is that the richness of authentic botanicals is worth relearning.

The organic myrrh used in the base of this formulation costs approximately £1,300 per kilogram. The synthetic equivalent costs around £10 for the same quantity. That price gap is why most perfume houses — including many that describe themselves as natural — default to synthetics. Haoma does not.

FAQ: Q: Can I try a sample before buying? A: As an independent, fully handmade brand, Haoma is currently unable to offer samples. Every size variation of their perfumes must undergo independent certification for both organic and vegan status, as well as laboratory testing, submission to EU and UK cosmetics portals, label redesign, and bespoke glass bottle sourcing. These requirements make producing samples prohibitive at this stage. Tester paper strips were trialled but essential oils do not hold their scent well on paper, so these were discontinued.

Q: Will this smell like the lavender perfumes I have used before? A: Probably not — and that is intentional. Around 99% of perfumes on the market use synthetic fragrances, including many brands that describe themselves as natural. Synthetic molecules produce a different, often more intense scent profile that most people now associate with luxury. Natural essential oils are softer and more intimate. If you have only used synthetic perfumes before, there will be an adjustment period. Haoma describes this as relearning to appreciate authentic botanicals rather than a flaw in the formulation.

About Our Brand Haoma

The skincare market often presents a dilemma: choose between products that are 'natural' but may lack efficacy, or those that deliver results through conventional cosmetic science, often at the expense of botanical principles. Haoma was founded to bridge this gap, creating a range of plant-based formulations that perform with the precision of modern science while upholding the integrity of their botanical ingredients.

What truly sets Haoma apart is its unique formulation process, which involves a deliberate collaboration between experienced chemists and skilled herbalists. This approach ensures that each botanical ingredient is selected not just for its natural origin, but for its clinically evidenced activity. These botanicals are then thoughtfully paired with specific bio-engineered compounds, chosen to amplify their inherent benefits, resulting in synergistic formulas that offer targeted and demonstrable results.

Haoma views bio-engineering not as a deviation from its botanical philosophy, but as a powerful extension of it. The brand utilises these advanced compounds as precision tools, unlocking performance levels from plant ingredients that traditional extraction methods alone cannot achieve. This results in a skincare range that is deeply rooted in herbal tradition yet meticulously shaped by the latest advancements in cosmetic science.
