This can cause the gold lustre to fade as it is like a plating. If the jewellery gets wet, gently dry with a soft cloth. Over time the sterling silver may tarnish. This is completely normal and common for silver jewellery. Simply polish with a silver cloth and this will make it clean and shiny again.
