Meena Star Earrings in Indigo Enamel

Meena Star Earrings in Indigo Enamel
Hand-cut from recycled sterling silver by Fair Trade artisans in Jaipur, these star earrings carry indigo blue enamel applied by hand — a technique called meena, inspired by a stained glass window in Deogarh Palace. The kind of piece Ziracle lists because the craft, the sourcing, and the giving back are all verifiable.

The star shape here has a specific origin: a stained glass window in Deogarh Palace, Rajasthan. That detail matters because it is the difference between jewellery that references Indian craft and jewellery that is rooted in it. Rize's designers work directly from architectural sources, and you can see it in the geometry — the points are precise, the proportions considered, and the granulated silver balls at each tip are a traditional finishing technique, not decoration added after the fact.
The enamel is applied by hand using the meena technique, a form of vitreous enamelling practised in Jaipur for centuries. Indigo blue is one of the more demanding colours to work with — the depth of colour you see when you hold these up to the light is the result of multiple applications and firings, not a single coat.
Available in two finishes:
- 22k Gold Vermeil (2.5 microns over recycled sterling silver base)
- Sterling Silver
Both use a recycled sterling silver base. The gold vermeil finish is plated to 2.5 microns — a meaningful thickness that wears significantly better than standard vermeil, which is often as thin as 0.5 microns.
Every pair is handmade by artisans from marginalised communities in Jaipur, all working under Fair Trade conditions. Ten per cent of every sale goes directly to two children's charities in Bangalore.
