Cornwaste Eco Trainer in White and Grey

Cornwaste Eco Trainer in White and Grey
The upper on this trainer is made from Cornwaste — a vegan leather derived from corn waste — paired with a sole containing at least 40% unbleached natural rubber from Vietnam and a lining of Abacá banana canvas and recycled cotton. Every material choice here is deliberate, which is exactly why Komodo is on Ziracle.

There are trainers that claim to be sustainable, and then there are trainers where you can account for every component. The G-HELA from Genesis, stocked by Komodo, is the second kind.
The upper is made from Cornwaste, a vegan leather produced from corn waste rather than virgin materials. Alongside it, an eco-friendly vegan microfibre suede — low-carbon in production and DMF-free, which matters because DMF (dimethylformamide) is a solvent used in conventional synthetic leather production that carries significant health and environmental concerns. The laces and seams are both made from recycled PET plastic bottles. The lining combines Abacá banana canvas with recycled cotton.
Underfoot, the insole is recycled EVA foam. The cork sole comes from sustainable production. The outsole contains at least 40% unbleached natural rubber sourced from Vietnam — the unbleached detail is worth noting, as bleaching typically involves additional chemical processing.
This is a trainer built for people who want to know what they are wearing and why it was made that way.

About Our Brand Komodo
Komodo has spent over three decades proving that sustainable fashion does not have to be a compromise between style and conscience. Founded in 1988, the brand set out to show that contemporary clothing design and genuine environmental responsibility are not mutually exclusive, a challenge they continue to meet with each collection.
What distinguishes Komodo in practice is their material choices. Rather than relying on conventional fabrics, they work with organic and natural eco-fibres, incorporate green PU coating, and use recycled PET derived from plastic bottles. The majority of their products are vegan, and all are produced without cruelty, commitments that go beyond labelling and into the fabric of how each garment is made.
Komodo has also taken the deliberate step of eliminating single-use plastics from their supply chain entirely. This is not a target or an aspiration; it is already done. For a fashion brand operating since the late 1980s, that level of supply chain discipline reflects a consistency of values that is rare in an industry still catching up to where Komodo started.
