Small Noir Pepper Grinder

Designed by Nick Munro — the silversmith behind the official London 2012 Olympic Games tableware — this beechwood pepper grinder pairs a dyed hardwood body with an adjustable crushgrind ceramic mechanism that grinds consistently without absorbing flavour or corroding over time.

The Noir pepper grinder is one of those objects that earns its place on the table rather than just occupying it. Nick Munro's signature curvaceous silhouette gives it a presence that works equally well set out for a dinner party or left on the kitchen counter on a Tuesday morning — bold enough to notice, considered enough not to shout.

The body is turned from beechwood and dyed in four colours — Ebony Black, Walnut Brown, Cherry Red, and Ash White — so the grain of the wood remains visible beneath the finish. No two are identical in the way that only natural materials allow.

The mechanism is a crushgrind ceramic system, adjustable to your preferred coarseness. Ceramic grinds cleanly, does not rust, and does not transfer any metallic taste to the pepper — which matters more than it sounds when you are using a good peppercorn.

Sold individually.

About the design: Nick Munro has spent a career making objects that are genuinely useful and genuinely beautiful — a combination that is rarer than it should be. The Noir range sits within a broader body of work that includes the official London 2012 Olympic Games silverware and the Diamond Jubilee Teapot for HRH the Queen. The Noir grinder carries that same design discipline into everyday use.
