There are vases, and then there are vases you keep on the shelf even when there are no flowers in them. This is the second kind.
Habulous makes every piece by hand in Great Britain using British clay, and the Shoreline dome vase is one of their most distinctive. The turquoise glaze reads like the sea on a clear summer day. The pink is speckled, gradient, and shifts between pale and bright depending on how the kiln reacts — no two are identical. Between the two glazes, the natural clay is left exposed, baking to a warm sandy colour that ties the whole thing together. It is a small object that carries a lot of atmosphere.
At 9cm tall with a wide domed base and a narrow 3.2cm rim, it works equally well as a standalone piece of decor or holding a small bunch of flowers. The proportions are considered: substantial enough to anchor a shelf or windowsill, compact enough not to dominate.
A note on handmade: because each piece is thrown and glazed individually, yours may differ slightly from the images. The pink shade can range from pale to bright, and there may be natural flecking in the clay from kiln reactions. These are not flaws — they are the record of how the piece was made.
