About Our Brand Artsy Mats
Most bath mats are a slow-motion hygiene problem. Fabric stays damp for hours, and damp fabric is where mould, bacteria, and that familiar sour smell take hold. Artsy Mats exists because the obvious fix — wash it more often — does not actually solve the underlying issue; it just delays it. The answer they arrived at was to stop using fabric altogether.
The mats are made from diatomite, a sedimentary rock formed from the fossilised remains of microscopic algae. Its structure is naturally porous at a microscopic level, which is why the surface dries to the touch in under 60 seconds after use. There are no chemical treatments involved — the anti-bacterial and anti-mould properties are intrinsic to the material, not added in. This is a meaningful distinction in a category where most products rely on synthetic treatments that degrade over time.
The ownership model is genuinely different from anything else in the bathroom category.
