There is something quietly satisfying about a small vase that earns its place on a windowsill. This one does it through the glaze work: a turquoise that reads like the sea on a clear day, bleeding into a speckled pink gradient, with the natural British clay left exposed between the two glazes — it fires to a warm, sandy colour that ties the whole thing together.
Habulous makes every piece by hand in Devon, in small batches, using traditional methods. That means no two are identical. The pink shade can shift from pale to brighter between firings, and there may be natural flecking in the clay from kiln reactions — both of these are features of the process, not imperfections.
It is sized for garden buds and single stems: narrow enough to hold a cutting upright, wide enough at the base to sit steadily on a shelf.
