The process is unhurried and deliberate. The fabric is stretched onto a wooden frame called an adda — a traditional embroidery support — before the hand embroidery begins. Once the embroidery is complete, the piece is hand-stitched into its star shape. The technique itself is a historical Indian art form that has been practised continuously for more than a century.
