The bristles across every brush in this set are 100% synthetic — not because it is a compromise, but because synthetic hair outperforms animal hair in several ways that actually matter. It does not absorb liquid or cream products, so nothing is wasted in the bristles. It retains its soft texture after repeated washing and years of use. And it does not carry the bacterial risk that porous natural bristles do, which matters if you are using these brushes daily on your skin.

The handles are bamboo with recycled aluminium ferrules — durable enough that with proper care, you should not need to replace them.

• Highlighting brush — applies powder, cream, or liquid highlighter to the complexion; use in small upward circular motions for a radiant finish

How to use: Buffing brush: Apply foundation to the face and buff in circular motions, building coverage gradually. Blending brush: Pick up eyeshadow or bronzer and blend in windscreen-wiper motions across the lid and socket. Small flat brush: Pat eyeshadow directly onto the lid for intensity, or use to apply concealer under the eyes. Detailing brush: Use to blend out small areas — inner corners, nose tip, brow bone — with a light tapping or circular motion. Contour brush: Apply contour product to the hollows of the cheeks, temples, and jawline and blend upward. Highlighting brush: Apply highlighter to the high points of the face using small upward circular motions.

Care: Wash brushes regularly with a gentle brush cleanser or mild soap. Reshape bristles after washing and lay flat or hang bristle-down to dry. Do not soak the handles, as prolonged water exposure can affect the bamboo.
