Votch built this around a 40mm brushed black case with a white dial and a Japanese GL20 movement — reliable, precise, and the kind of mechanism that does not need replacing every two years. The nautical-influenced design keeps things minimal: nothing on the dial that does not need to be there.
The strap is where Votch has done the real work. Most vegan watches swap conventional leather for PVC and call it a day. Votch does not. The faux leather here is free from PVC, phthalates, heavy metals, flame retardants, and added antimicrobial chemicals, produced with low VOC emissions, and incorporates recycled and renewable content. That is a meaningfully different material standard — better for the environment, and better to wear.
The strap is 20mm wide and quick-release, so swapping it out takes seconds rather than a trip to a watchmaker. It fits wrists from approximately 150mm to 210mm.
