Swole Panda's woven belts are elasticated and completely hole-free, which means the fit adjusts precisely to your waist rather than defaulting to the nearest notch. The more substantial claim is the material. Swole Panda is the first brand to manufacture woven belts from REPREVE®, a certified recycled fibre made from plastic bottles recovered from the ocean. Each belt contains the equivalent of seven previously discarded bottles. REPREVE® is a traceable material — the recycled content can be verified through the manufacturer's U Trust® programme, which is what makes this a meaningful claim rather than a marketing one.
The hardware is a low-profile brushed zinc-alloy buckle, and the trimmings use recycled faux leather. The belt arrives in a 100% organic cotton pouch.
Swole Panda donates 5% of profits from each belt sold to Ocean Generation, an NGO working to stop plastic reaching the oceans within a generation.
