The name says it plainly. Ansvar is the Scandinavian word for responsibility, and this backpack was built around that idea from the start. It is the first backpack to carry both Fairtrade Cotton and GOTS certification at the same time — not one or the other, both together, covering the cotton from field through finished product.
The canvas is 560gsm organic cotton, dense enough to resist light rain and quick-drying when it gets caught in it. Because the fabric is naturally dyed and untreated, it will develop its own character over time — scuffs, fades, and marks that make it yours rather than anyone else's. The roll-top design means the volume adjusts between 14 and 19 litres depending on what you are carrying, which makes it genuinely useful across a commute, a weekend trip, or anything in between.
The leather trim is vegetable-tanned and naturally dyed, with no chromium in the process. The buckles are nickel and chrome-free. The shoulder straps are undyed, unbleached 100% cotton. None of these are incidental details — they are the difference between a bag that is marketed as sustainable and one that actually is.

Care instructions: Only clean by hand — not suitable for machine washing. To optimise the water-repellent effect of the organic cotton canvas, a GOTS-certified impregnation spray is recommended. Do not apply impregnation spray to the leather sections.
