AMAR Roll-Top Backpack in Burgundy Red

AMAR Roll-Top Backpack in Burgundy Red
Woven from 560 GSM organic Fairtrade cotton canvas — heavy enough to hold its shape, light enough to carry all day — the AMAR is GOTS certified (CERES-0199) from field through finished bag, which is exactly the kind of supply chain transparency Komodo has been building since 1988.

The AMAR is a minimalist roll-top backpack that does the everyday job well: laptop protected, keys located, volume adjustable, and a canvas that gets better with use rather than worse.
The fabric is the thing to understand first. At 560 GSM, this is a heavyweight organic cotton canvas — dense enough to be naturally water resistant and quick-drying without any synthetic coating, and sturdy enough to develop character over time rather than simply wearing out. The straps are 100% organic cotton too, so there is no synthetic material introduced at the point of contact.
The roll-top system extends the main compartment from 15 litres to 20 litres, closed with a YKK zipper — the hardware standard that bag makers reach for when they want closures that last. Buckles are nickel- and chromium-free. The padded back panel uses EVA rubber for comfort, and the laptop compartment at the rear fits up to a 15-inch machine (approximately 38 cm × 28 cm). Inside the main compartment, a key fob keeps the thing you most often lose in one place.
Komodo has confirmed this product is free from materials of animal origin.

About Our Brand Komodo
Komodo has spent over three decades proving that sustainable fashion does not have to be a compromise between style and conscience. Founded in 1988, the brand set out to show that contemporary clothing design and genuine environmental responsibility are not mutually exclusive, a challenge they continue to meet with each collection.
What distinguishes Komodo in practice is their material choices. Rather than relying on conventional fabrics, they work with organic and natural eco-fibres, incorporate green PU coating, and use recycled PET derived from plastic bottles. The majority of their products are vegan, and all are produced without cruelty, commitments that go beyond labelling and into the fabric of how each garment is made.
Komodo has also taken the deliberate step of eliminating single-use plastics from their supply chain entirely. This is not a target or an aspiration; it is already done. For a fashion brand operating since the late 1980s, that level of supply chain discipline reflects a consistency of values that is rare in an industry still catching up to where Komodo started.
