Vegan Wax Food Wraps Set of 3

Made from food-grade candelilla wax, Grade A damar tree resin, extra virgin olive oil, and OEKO-TEX certified 100% cotton — this set of three reusable wraps from Auklett replaces cling film, zip bags, and tin foil with something that lasts up to a year, composts when it is done, and contains nothing from palm or soy.

Cling film does one job and then sits in landfill for centuries. These wraps do the same job, last up to 12 months with proper care, and compost at the end of their life. That is the whole argument — and it holds up.

Auklett makes these wraps from four ingredients: food-grade candelilla wax (a plant-based wax derived from the candelilla shrub), Grade A damar tree resin, extra virgin olive oil, and OEKO-TEX certified 100% cotton fabric. No beeswax, no palm derivatives, no soy. The OEKO-TEX certification on the cotton means the fabric has been tested against a list of harmful substances — so what touches your food has already passed that bar.

The set covers three sizes for the jobs that actually come up:

  • 1x Large (30cm) — wrap a tomato, apple, jar, and snacks for on-the-go
  • 1x Medium (25cm) — wrap a sandwich, burger, or big-size fruit
  • 1x Small (20cm) — cover a big bowl or a pie dish or wrap a long sandwich

They work in the freezer. They mould around bowls, bottles, and awkward shapes. They keep an open bottle of wine fresh and a toothbrush travel-ready. The wraps are cut by hand, so slight size variations are normal. Tiny flecks of tree resin or plant material may be visible — this is a feature of natural materials, not a defect, and does not affect food safety or performance.

When the wrap eventually gets tired, it can be rewaxed using Auklett's Refresher Bars, composted, or used as a firelighter.

Allergy note: if you have a nut allergy, avoid all wax food wraps.

How to use: Give the wrap a quick clean in cool or cold water before first use. Use the heat of your hands to soften the wrap — it can be a little sticky the first time. Mould it around food, bowls, bottles, or containers. Works in the freezer.

Care: Wash in cool or cold water only and air dry. Store in a cool, dry place. Keep away from heat, hot water, ovens, microwaves, and dishwashers — the wax will melt. Do not use with raw meat or fish.
