There is a particular kind of soap that does not strip your skin the moment you step out of the shower. Sintra Naturals' Lavender Skin Food is that kind. It is a handmade bar built around ingredients that have a long track record on skin — olive oil, shea butter, coconut oil — and finished with dried lavender and alkanet root powder for a gentle scent and a naturally derived purple hue that shifts slightly from batch to batch.
The formulation skips essential oils entirely, which matters if your skin is reactive. Most lavender soaps rely on lavender essential oil for fragrance; this one uses dried Lavandula angustifolia instead, which delivers the mild botanical scent without the concentration that can trigger sensitivity. It is suitable for all skin types and gentle enough for children above one year.
The alkanet root powder does double duty: it gives the bar its colour — a natural blue-purple derived from the root of the Alkanna tinctoria plant — and it is an emollient in its own right, soothing and softening to the skin. No synthetic colourants are used.
Coconut powder, rather than coconut oil alone, is included to boost lather. The sugar content from the powder produces a thick, creamy foam that rinses clean without leaving skin tight or dry.
All bars are hand-cut, so weight is approximate. Colour may vary slightly between batches — that is the nature of natural ingredients, not a quality issue.
