Most deodorants work by blocking sweat with aluminium compounds or masking odour with synthetic fragrance. Kutis Skincare takes a different approach: bicarbonate of soda neutralises odour at source, arrowroot powder absorbs moisture, and coconut oil conditions the skin while you wear it. The result is a deodorant that does the job without the ingredients you would rather avoid.
The scent is a herbaceous floral blend of lavender and geranium essential oils — refreshing but not sharp, soothing rather than perfume-heavy. Both oils were selected specifically for their anti-bacterial properties, which means the fragrance is doing functional work, not just covering things up.
Sunflower wax forms the base in place of beeswax, keeping the formula fully vegan. The stick weighs 55g and, with once-a-day use, lasts around three months — which works out to good value for a handmade product.
