Conventional plastic cling film is almost impossible to recycle through kerbside collections, so the vast majority of it ends up in landfill — or worse, in waterways, where it eventually breaks down into microplastics that turn up in seafood. This alternative is certified compostable and will degrade within six months in the right conditions. It is made from 97% PBAT and 3% PLA, both plant-based materials, so you are not wrapping your food in a petroleum-derived film.
The tin foil is a different kind of win. Aluminium production is energy-intensive — European foil production alone runs to around 800,000 tonnes a year, contributing approximately 2.5% of total annual CO₂ emissions.
